Fine Illustrator of the Mid-20th Century, Richard (Dick) Sargent 

Great Illustrators were Great Artists

Richard (Dick) Sargent was born in Moline, IL on March 26, 1911. Sargent studied at the Corcoran School of Art. His work appeared in Saturday Evening Post, Life Magazine and other magazines. Notably he shared the responsibility for the Saturday Evening Post magazine covers along with Norman Rockwell. In the late 1960s he retired to the Andalusia region of Spain and died there in 1978. He was a member of The Society of Illustrators.
